OVERVIEW:
POPCORN! is an app that is designed to help you take charge of your finances. This easy-to-use app was designed especially for those who are new to budgeting and need some pointers to get them on the right track. Too many finance tracking apps add excessive features that clutter the app, POPCORN! provides the most streamlined money management experience available.
Home page gives you a bird’s eye view of your finances in an easy-to-read format.
HOME SCREEN:
The Home Screen is the landing zone for all financial needs. After setting up bank account information along with budgeting goals the tracker makes it clear what are your Current Finances along with how your Budget is going. From here you can also access the Tracker, Calendar, Budget, and POPCORN! features. Many other apps like GoodBudget and Mint feature home screens that display current finance information but what differentiates POPCORN! is the simplicity of what is displayed, no cluttered interface, just the essentials.
Self-tracking graph clearly explains your finances over time and gives details below.
MONEY TRACKER:
The Money Tracker page is a more in-depth analysis of how your money is doing. At the top of the page Current Finances are displayed. Underneath are the trends of your spending/saving over the course of the day, week, or month. Listed in the bottom half is the finance information for each given date. Turning the app on its side gives a more interactive graph view. Competitors like Expense Daily and Pulse have added similar features to their expense tracker but in most cases, these are too convoluted and poorly designed for the mobile interface. POPCORN! shows you what you need and makes it easy to understand where your money is going.
Color codes give you an idea of where your finances stand with just a quick glance.
BUDGET:
POPCORN! simplifies the approach to budgeting by helping you design one based around your spending habits and goals. Displayed at the top is the current month along with how much has been spent and how much has been saved. For each budget, color indications shows where you are in your finances. Green means good condition, yellow means at the limit, red means over-budget. By highlighting the most important parts of your spending, POPCORN! can help you find ways to create a budget that is smart and adaptive to your need.
Calendar displays finances for the given week along with a tailored tip for increasing your savings.
CALENDAR:
An essential part of every Finance application is to be able to view your money in a Calendar view (especially done well by Mint). By clicking on the “Details” within Tracker you can do just that and more. Calendar view makes it easy to see particular expenses for each day of the week but what makes POPCORN! special is that it will tell you just how much of a difference you’re finances have made over time. Below each date is the difference in spent/saved from the previous day. By swiping on the Calendar screen users can access another view that displays a chart of finances spent/earned for a given timeframe (pictured above). This defaults to the week but can be changed for the day or month. One of the biggest takeaways is a personalized tip at the bottom of the page to help encourage a positive financial future.

POPCORN!:
A fresh feature that is rarely offered in other finance applications. POPCORN! is a reward system that users can collect as they reach and exceed their financial goals. Most apps are great with setting up users for a successful budget but what becomes hard is continuing that habit after budgets have been set. By tapping on the popcorn you can see exactly what rewards are available and what it will require to earn them. Some are secret so by keeping good budget habits you will eventually unlock them all. This feature, which has been popular in apps like Yelp!, is a great way to keep you engaged and make budgeting fun.
